Guide
How long does it take to learn kitesurfing?
It usually takes 6 to 10 hours of lessons to ride on your own. At Le Morne, you learn on a shallow, flat lagoon protected by the coral reef. A 6-hour package costs €435 as a private lesson, or €235 per person semi-private.

What happens in the first lesson?
No experience is needed. The lesson starts with theory and kite handling on land, before going into the water. You don't need to be able to swim: you can stand everywhere in the lagoon. Being comfortable in the water is a plus.
All equipment is provided: kite, board, harness, helmet, vest, rash vest or wetsuit and booties, matched to your size and the day's wind.
Why learn on Le Morne lagoon?
The lagoon is shallow, you can stand everywhere, and the reef protects it from big swells. The water is flat, with no big waves. The prevailing wind is the south-east trade wind, stronger in the early afternoon.
Private or semi-private?
In a private lesson, the instructor is with you alone. Semi-private means two students at most per instructor. You can come as a pair, or be matched with another student of the same level.
