Which month for a beginner?

Every month from March to November suits a beginner. The lagoon stays flat, and the kite size is matched to the day's wind. March, April and May bring medium wind, 10 to 22 knots, and fewer people on the water.

Which month for experienced riders?

June, July, August and September: the wind is strong, 15 to 33 knots. It is the season for the Bel Ombre → Le Morne downwind and for jump sessions. The lagoon is also busiest from May to September, then empties from late September.

What about November to April?

The school stays open and adapts. If there is not enough wind, the session is refunded or rescheduled, and the school may move to another spot for better conditions. December, January and February are the low season: you can kite, but on fewer days in the month and less regularly.

What time does the wind blow?

In season, the wind blows from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. It is stronger in the early afternoon and increases as the tide rises.

What wetsuit do I need?

The water stays between 24 and 27 °C all year: a rash vest is enough from November to April, a wetsuit is useful from May to October. Nothing to buy: rash vests, wetsuits and booties are provided by the school.
